“I said that I am in favor of sanctions, but I am also in favor of negotiations,” addressing the question in the briefing with journalists, in which case the West will impose sanctions on Azerbaijan because the deputies of European countries talk about the importance of sanctions and diplomats say they believe in negotiations? Nathalie Loiseau (RENEW, France), the Security and Defense Subcommittee Chair of the European Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Relations, answered.

According to her, Armenia and Azerbaijan have a lot to talk about- border delimitation, the release of prisoners of war, protection of life and well-being of the population in Nagorno-Karabakh, opening of the Lachin Corridor, possibility of communication with the southern part of Armenia, fully respecting the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Armenia.

“Solutions are popular, and that’s what the European Union calls for. Armenia is a member of an organization called CSTO, which is called to protect its members from aggression. I would advise you to direct your questions to the members of that organization.”

To the journalist’s question, does international law not apply? Nathalie Loiseau responded briefly: ask them. They don’t give importance to it. In response to the journalist’s question, does the West attach importance to it? The Security and Defense Subcommittee Chairperson of the European Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Relations responded: ”

Ask yourself a question. I am coming to Armenia for the third time, going to Goris for the second time, and when it was still possible, I also went to Nagorno-Karabakh. The answer should be clear whether the West or I care about it or not.”
