“I said that I am in favor of sanctions, but I am also in favor of negotiations,” addressing the question in the briefing with journalists, in which case the West will impose sanctions on Azerbaijan because the deputies of European countries talk about the importance of sanctions and diplomats say they believe in negotiations? Nathalie Loiseau (RENEW, France), the Security and Defense Subcommittee Chair of the European Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Relations, answered.
According to her, Armenia and Azerbaijan have a lot to talk about- border delimitation, the release of prisoners of war, protection of life and well-being of the population in Nagorno-Karabakh, opening of the Lachin Corridor, possibility of communication with the southern part of Armenia, fully respecting the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Armenia.
“Solutions are popular, and that’s what the European Union calls for. Armenia is a member of an organization called CSTO, which is called to protect its members from aggression. I would advise you to direct your questions to the members of that organization.”
