1lurer.am. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is in the investigative commission to study the circumstances of the 44-day war today, June 27. The opposition refused to participate in the discussion. It is conducted in a Q&A format. As necessary, the issues will be discussed in closed mode.
Referring to the factors contributing to the weakening of our positions in the negotiation process, including the international situation, demography and internal events, the Prime Minister noted that there is a hypothesis that October 27 (1999 terror attack in Armenia’s parliament, when the Prime Minister Vazgen Sargsyan, Parliament Speaker Karen Demirchyan and six officials and deputies where killed by an armed group) is related to the negotiation process, the concept of territory exchange. According to the Prime Minister, it has not yet been proven or backed up in terms of criminal law, but it may also become a subject of investigation.
“In 1994 when a truce was established, it was recorded that the Armenian side won, the Azerbaijani side lost, and in the 20 years after that, the population of Azerbaijan doubled, while that of Armenia decreased. Who was the victory for and why did the population of Armenia decrease instead of increase?” asked the Prime Minister.
