“Russia must resort to much more drastic measures to lift today’s deaf blockade.” MP from Dashnaktsutyun at a sit-in near the Russian Embassy

June 28,2023 13:30

During the demonstration organized on June 27, Gegham Manukyan, deputy of the “Hayastan” faction, was near the Russian Embassy in Armenia. To the question: RA Prime Minister, Security Council Secretary Armen Grigoryan, and NA Speaker, they all recognize Artsakh as part of Azerbaijan and in this context, what do you expect from the world, what does this mean, he answered.

“It means that Nikol Pashinyan, the Secretary of the Security Council, and the rest of those who think so are not Armenian people and do not express the opinion of the Armenian people. They have no mandate, no legitimate right to make such treacherous statements on behalf of the Armenian people. Raising it at various embassies today is also a testament to that, to push the international community to real action.

The Russian Federation, which is also a signatory of the document of November 9 and has obligations, its peacekeeping presence is, unfortunately, the only security guarantee today; the presence of Russian peacekeeping troops in Artsakh in the coming years is a vital necessity to confront the threat of genocide.

Still, when Azerbaijan has become so brazen that it also carries out its hostile actions against Russian peacekeepers, Russia should resort to much more drastic actions to lift today’s deaf blockade, to lift the blockade of Artsakh. That is what the initiative at the Russian Embassy is for.”

According to Gegham Manukyan, having forwarded this demand of the people to the Russian Embassy, they hope that it will reach Moscow. “This is a demand, today Artsakh, like Leningrad at one time, is under blockade, and that blockade must be suppressed in every possible way.”

The MP also mentioned that for years the Armenian society has been gnawing like a nasty worm saying, “let’s give Artsakh, let’s live in peace.” “Life has shown that the enemy will not stand in front of anything; Syunik, Gegharkunik, Yerevan, the center of Yerevan, the government building, and Kond mansions will follow Artsakh.”
