“Aravot,” asked Sofya Hovsepyan, a former Member of the National Assembly: The blockade of Artsakh deepens, and the people of Artsakh reaffirm that not being part of Azerbaijan is a red line for them. You were in Artsakh for a long time; what are the moods?
“Yes, it is obvious that both Azerbaijan and Pashinyan are pressing this noose for the sake of the people of Artsakh standing up at some point and saying: I agree to leave, take Artsakh for you. But they see it is impossible; the more they tighten the noose, the more the Artsakh resident insists: you cannot take me out of my home; this is my homeland. And this messed up all their calculations.
They expected it to be before the end of December; at the beginning of the New Year, Azerbaijan should have entered Stepanakert and put up its flag. But, contrary to them, the siege has been going on for more than 200 days, and the people of Artsakh are not retreating in any way. They tried to implement a total blockade: since April 23, 4 villages of the Shushi region have been under a complete blockade. For several days now, humanitarian goods have not entered Stepanakert; they are creating artificial problems through internal violence and panicky moods that there will be no bread.
Still, the people of Artsakh are very resourceful. Even in December, when there were no vegetables or other food, they found a solution, which surprised me. As a person born and raised in the village, I could not decide how to find solutions faster than every Artsakh citizen.

And there, I learned something that it is possible to have solutions in any situation. If there is a goal and an idea, you can achieve that idea due to your ingenuity. The Artsakh citizen is resourceful, which is one reason for Nikol Pashinyan’s mental breakdown. He promised to hand over Artsakh quickly, but the opposite is happening. As a result, their playing cards got mixed up,” replied Sofya Hovsepyan.
