The adoption of the package of drafts on Making Addenda and Amendments to the Law on Regulation of Arms Circulation and on Making Addenda and Amendment to the Law on State Duties is conditioned by the necessity to eliminate the problems arising in law enforcement practice and the existing legal inconsistencies.
This was stated by the RA Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sargsyan, who presented the legislative package for debate in the first reading at the NA extraordinary session on July 13.
According to her, it became necessary to extend the provisions of the Law on the Regulation of Arms Circulation to the circulation of bullets as well as the main component parts of firearms.
It was noted that the provisions regarding military sports organizations are removed from the law, as their regulations are planned to be established by a separate legislation regulating the field.

The Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs also highlighted the provision by which the right to reward the servicemen of the RA Ministry of Defense with an officer’s dagger is reserved to the RA Minister of Defense in accordance with the law on Disciplinary Code of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia.
The deputy of the Civil Contract Faction Gurgen Arsenyan said that after the law comes into force, it is necessary to carry out monitoring to see what effective results have been recorded in practice.
