In the extraordinary sitting of July 13, the NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs debated the draft law on Making Addendum to the Law on the Structure and Activities of the Government in the second reading , by which it is proposed to supplement Article 7 of the law with a new part with the following content, according to which the Prime Minister has the authority to form a Commission for the election of candidates nominated by the Republic of Armenia for the position of judge in international courts and to approve its working procedure, as well as to approve the list of documents necessary to take part in the election of candidates nominated by the Republic of Armenia for the position of judge in international courts, approve or reject the list of candidates made by the Commission as a result of the election.
The rapporteur of the draft, the Representative on International Legal Issues Yeghishe Kirakosyan said that the draft was not amended after being adopted in the first reading.
The Committee endorsed the draft.
