“In this difficult situation, I want to ask, are we ready to start a peaceful and unrelenting struggle demanding an end to these atrocities being committed against us?” asked Artsakh Republic State Minister Gurgen Nersisyan to the thousands of Artsakh citizens who participated in the demonstration demanding the blockade of Artsakh in Stepanakert’s Renaissance Square.
“Yes,” answered the participants of the demonstration. Artsakh State Minister assured: “The people of Artsakh are the most peace-loving people in the world; no one knows the price of peace better than us; the only demand of our people is peace; it is the respect and guarantee of our right to live peacefully and safely on this handful of land.”
Gurgen Nersisyan also asked if we were ready for a long-term struggle, and the people of Artsakh answered yes. He then presented their next steps. “Now we are all moving to the Stepanakert office of the International Committee of the Red Cross, where we must voice our demand to convey real information to the international structures about the situation in Artsakh, real and objective, sincere and without formalities and without paying tribute to the pressures of Azerbaijan that started the genocide of the people of Artsakh.

Then we will move to the location of the Russian peacekeeping forces, where our compatriots from the Askeran region are already preparing to meet us. The Russian peacekeepers should also be presented with a request to unblock Artsakh and stop the humanitarian disaster, after which the meeting will continue in Renaissance Square almost daily, where we will present the daily humanitarian situation, the problems, and the consequences of the deepening humanitarian crisis.”
Summing up the speech, Gurgen Nersisyan said: “This process is apolitical, our further actions will be organized, and we will not allow any attempt to politicize this popular movement or serve anyone’s personal or political interests.”
