The “Integration” means “slaughter”

July 18,2023 10:33

David Shahnazaryan told “Aravot” that Azerbaijan has prepared a “road map,” the goal of which is to “integrate” Artsakh into Azerbaijan. The project will be implemented within one year and involves four stages: Azerbaijani passports, manat investment, Armed Forces’ disarmament, and power handover. According to Shahnazaryan, the program was transferred to the RA authorities, who, in turn, should, to put it bluntly, transfer the ultimatum to the Artsakh authorities.

In a conversation with “Aravot,” the press secretary of the Prime Minister, Nazeli Baghdasaryan, refused to comment on the news. In other words, she did not say that the RA authorities are unaware of such a program, and nothing similar was conveyed to them. That allows us to assume that Aliyev informed Pashinyan about the mentioned “road map,” and the latter did not oppose it “for the sake of the peace agenda.” (And how would he object if he thinks Artsakh is part of Azerbaijan?) And officially, the same song will be sung: “Let the authorities of Azerbaijan and Artsakh clarify these issues with each other.”

The authorities of Armenia, with this position, plus the Russian Foreign Ministry, with its statement that the Russian peacekeepers refuse to fulfill their obligations assumed on November 9, 2020, remove from themselves the responsibility for the fate of the people of Artsakh and all that indicates the worst case scenario, the high probability of forced depopulation of Artsakh. One can, of course, make deep geopolitical analyses; one can remember who, when, and how negotiated during 30 years. But one can just remember how the Azerbaijanis treated the defenseless Armenians in Sumgait, Baku, and Maragha to understand what fate awaits our compatriots living in Artsakh in case of “integration” with Azerbaijan.

The Azerbaijanis are already discussing in detail what they will do with the Armenian children in “Khankendi” in 2025 when the Russian peacekeepers leave. Charles Michel and Sergey Lavrov know very well what will happen, but their responsibility in case of slaughter is political and moral. Pashinyan and the members of the Civil Contract also understand everything.

It seems they will always turn on the broken record about the “former” and thus avoid responsibility. But the moment to answer will come anyway. And in this case, the responsibility will also be legal.
