Pashinyan familiarized himself with the major repair works of the 12 km road section of M-2 Yerevan-Yeraskh-Goris-Meghri-Iran border road located in the territory of Ararat community

In the sidelines of his visit to Ararat Province, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan familiarized himself with the implemented and current programs in the communities funded by the Government and subsidy programs.

The Head of the Government first familiarized himself with the major repair works of the 12 km road section of M-2 Yerevan-Yeraskh-Goris-Meghri-Iran border road located in the territory of Ararat community. It was reported that the construction works carried out by the “Road Department” fund are in the final stage. The total cost of the project is 1 billion 192.5 million AMD. It was reported that in total, 94 km of roads were repaired in Ararat Province during 2018-2022. In 2023, it is planned to repair 52 km of roads in the Province.

Then the Prime Minister got acquainted with the progress of the construction of the kindergarten in the Avshar settlement of the Ararat community and the improvement of the surrounding area. According to the representatives, the foundations of the building are built. About 60% of the works have been completed. The total cost of the subsidy program is 246 million 735 thousand AMD, of which 30% is funded by the community and 70% is funded by the state budget. As a result of the completion of the project, the settlement will have a newly built kindergarten, designed for 170 children. The works will be completed in the coming months.

Next, Nikol Pashinyan got acquainted with the asphalt paving works of the 2.2 km long street of Vedi city. It was noted that 65% of the works are done. The total cost of the subsidy program is 509 million 650 thousand AMD, of which 45% is funded by the community and 55% by the state budget.

The next visit of the Prime Minister was the Vedi Reservoir, which is being built from scratch and which has a capacity of 29 million cubic meters. Officials noted that 74 meters out of 85 meters of the main dam and 10 meters out of 17 meters of the 2nd dam have been built. Works have been completed by 93%. The construction of the reservoir is planned to be completed at the end of this year. The total cost of the project implemented with the loan funds of the French Development Agency and the co-financing of the Government of the Republic of Armenia is 90 million euros, of which the share of the FDA is 75 million euros, and the share of the Government is 15 million euros. As a result of the completion of the project, uninterrupted gravity irrigation will be ensured in 3200 ha of land. Energy savings will be 19 million kWh. The officials also noted that the Vedi Reservoir is the first of its kind in Armenia, which will be equipped with modern SCADA system, which is an automated irrigation monitoring program, and it will be possible to carry out efficient water distribution from Yerevan, the head office.

In Pokr Vedi, the Prime Minister met the local residents, talked with them, got acquainted with the problems, which mainly related to the grape procurement process. The Prime Minister noted that the Government will discuss the problems and try to find necessary solutions. Here, Nikol Pashinyan got acquainted with the construction works of the school for 400 students. Work that started in 2022 is planned to be completed in 2024. 1 billion 872 million AMD have been allocated from the state budget for the project.

The Head of the Government visited the “Vedi Alco” company and got acquainted with its activities, upcoming programs and planned works in the direction of grape procurement.

In Deghdzut settlement, Nikol Pashinyan got acquainted with the construction works of the school being built by the Ministry of Urban Development, which is in the final stage. Some shortcomings were noticed here, which the Prime Minister instructed to eliminate in a short period of time. 960 million AMD were allocated from the state budget for the project. The school is designed for 120 students.

During the visit to Ararat Province, Nikol Pashinyan got acquainted with the ongoing renovation works of the children’s and youth complex sports school in Artashat city. The total cost of the project implemented by the Ararat regional administration is 616 million 854 thousand AMD. As a result of the completion of the project, the Artashat community will have a thoroughly renovated sports school, where it will be possible to hold international tournaments.

The works of repairing and asphalting the streets of the settlements of Artashat community were presented to the Head of the Government. 85% of the works have been completed. The total cost of the subsidy program is 2 billion 217 million AMD, of which 65% is the community’s share, 35% isprovided from the state budget.

Then the Prime Minister visited Verin Dvin community, where he was presented with street lighting works. 55% of the works have been completed. The total cost of the subsidy program is 36.8 million AMD, of which 55% is funded by the community, 45% by the state budget. Upon completion of the project, the Verin Dvin community will be fully illuminated.

Nikol Pashinyan got acquainted with the conditions of the Artashat car market located in the Mkhchyan village of the region. Those responsible informed that the works are completed. The total cost of the private investment project is 8 million USD. As a result of the project, a car market will operate on a plot of about 11 ha, where there is also a registration-examination department.

The Prime Minister toured the Artashat registration-examination department of the “Traffic Police” service of the Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs next to the car market, visited the citizens’ service hall, license plate issuance, driver’s license exchange and examination rooms, got acquainted with the queue regulation system. The Head of the Government also familiarized himself with the conditions of the autodrome intended for the practical examination for the driver’s license. Those in charge presented that it is planned to create separate windows for providing proper public services to persons with disabilities, participants in wars and diplomatic representatives.

In Masis community, the construction works of the Masis Medical Center were presented to the Prime Minister. It was noted that construction works are in progress. The total cost of the project is 2 billion AMD. As a result of the project implemented by the Urban Development Committee, Masis community will have a newly built medical center.

Within the framework of the regional visit, the Head of the Government got acquainted with the construction process of the building of the nursery school No. 3 in Masis city. It was emphasized that the building has been completely built, the interior finishing works are underway, which have been completed by 85%. The total cost of the subsidy program is 276 million 508 thousand AMD, of which 50% is funded by the community and 50% by the state budget. As a result of the completion of the project, the settlement will have a newly built nursery school designed for 120 children in four groups.

The Head of the Government familiarized himself with the major repair works of the 5 km section of the Vagharshapat-Masis M-2 road. Nikol Pashinyan was informed that 85% of the works have been completed. The total cost of the project is 875 million 737 thousand AMD. The project is implemented by the Road Department Fund.

At the end of the visit, Prime Minister Pashinyan visited a smart livestock farm established by a farmer in Masis under the state program. The process and effectiveness of the project were presented here. The Prime Minister welcomed the farmer’s participation in the program and instructed the officials to actively present the effectiveness of the program with concrete examples among the farms.

Prime Minister Pashinyan paid tribute to the memory of the heroes who sacrificed their lives for the Motherland.
