The interlocutor of “Aravot” is Arthur Osipyan, the Leader of the Artsakh Revolutionary Party, a member of the initiative group of the “Headquarters of the People’s Movement for Unblocking the Corridor.”
-Mr. Osipyan, yesterday you made a live broadcast on the Facebook social network with the suggestion that the people of Artsakh should gather and march peacefully to Hakari Bridge, noting that this would change the situation. What will it change?
– Aliyev’s arguments to justify himself, that the road is open are not real. They do not say that the road is closed; they claim it is available, and the “Red Cross” works. With our step, we will destroy his policy and whether we like it or not, the blockade of Artsakh will be presented in a different context in the international field. And it will likely be the only successful way by which we can save Artsakh.
– Do the people of Artsakh have the determination to gather, march, and demand the opening of the corridor?

– Yes, they have, and the time is slowly approaching.
– The people of Artsakh closed the section of road going from Askeran to Akna (Aghdam) and installed concrete barriers. People emphasize that Artsakh’s right to self-determination is irrevocable and not for sale. In other words, does Artsakh reject Baku’s offer to provide aid this way?
– Yes, he refuses and demands to open the way of life. The people of Artsakh blocked the road to death yesterday and ordered them to open the road to life, the road to Armenia. Yes, Artsakh shows that it rejects Baku’s offer of arbitrary support. The right to self-determination is inalienable; the people of Artsakh feel independent because they really lived independently for 30 years. And no other option is considered; no other option is in anyone’s mind.
– A popular movement has started in Artsakh; the President of Artsakh has also joined and announced that there will be actions after a week of waiting. How do you assess the situation? Will the movement gain momentum?
– It will not be possible to extinguish this movement because it must reach its goal and resolve the issue. As long as the problem is not resolved, society will devote more attention and more time to solving that issue in the future. We are not very satisfied with the government’s actions; they are doing everything very gently and extending the time, which we are against. But at the same time, we do not want to be the cause of division, and we hope that the government will not cross the red lines and will take more drastic and clear steps toward Russia and Azerbaijan itself. Let me say this: I don’t expect any severe steps from the government, what they will announce, but this will be the red line; after that, they will no longer be able to delay or make untrue statements, make promises and mislead the people. The organizers should organize and complete the work if they cannot arrange this.
