“Today, together with a group of journalists, we accompanied two women from Artsakh who wanted to return to their families in Stepanakert. Behind the camerawoman in the photo is the Hakari River bridge, Lachin (Berdzor) corridor, Artsakh.
Our border patrol forces hosted our group for about four hours while we waited for any response from the Russian peacekeepers so that we could go beyond our border checkpoint into so-called “neutral” territory, which itself requires security guarantees. We did not receive any response from the Russians.
Over the course of four hours, we did not register any traffic through the Berdzor (Lachin) corridor, except for official vehicles and Azerbaijani construction equipment. Aliyev’s claims that the corridor is open are an obvious lie, which was recorded by local, Belarusian and Russian journalists who came as part of the group.
Basically, we have the impression that the Russians themselves are unable/ do not pass through the Azerbaijani illegal checkpoint installed on the humanitarian corridor, but we could not be sure of this, as we did not receive any response from them.
