Armenia’s Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan responded to Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Joly’s announcement on the country’s contribution to the EU Mission in Armenia.

“We truly appreciate Canada’s contribution and presence in Armenia for the sake of peace and stability in our region as well as for enhancement of bilateral relations based on shared commitment to democratic principles”, Mirzoyan tweeted.

Earlier Joly said Canada is committed to supporting a peaceful political solution to the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh, and ensuring stability in the region.

“That is why we have increased our footprint in the region. Now, we’re announcing that Canada will participate in the EU Mission in Armenia” Joly tweeted.
