To the President and Founder of Women Political Leaders (WPL), former Vice President of the European Parliament Ms. Silvana Koch-Mehrin
Dear Ms. Silvana Koch-Mehrin
Around 120,000 civilians, including 30,000 children, have been under siege for over seven months. Since December 12, 2022, the sole road connecting Armenia to Artsakh, the “Road of Life”, has been blocked. Moreover, the supply of all kinds of food and medicine to Artsakh has been stopped for a duration surpassing one month. The map I have sent to you showcases vividly the connection road between Artsakh and Armenia after the 2020 war and highlights its vital importance for Artsakh and for the Armenians there.

Ms. Silvana Koch-Mehrin, I am addressing you as a woman politician would address a woman politician, a colleague would address a colleague, a woman would address a woman, as a mother would address a mother.
In the 21st century, in the eyes of the modern and advanced world, the population of Artsakh is starving. Shops, pharmacies, warehouses are completely empty, people are deprived of daily bread, they are psychologically oppressed by the feeling of uncertainty and helplessness. Imagine that our infants, who require exceptional nourishment and medication, are left wanting. Children are denied access to any form of nutrition, be it fruits, vegetables, sweets, or bread, with the available food supply highly restricted, being consumed on an hour-to-hour basis.
As a result of all this, children, young pregnant women, the elderly, and those in need of special care suffer first and foremost. They are simply exercising their inalienable right to live in their homeland and on their land.
Dear Ms. Silvana Koch-Mehrin,
Artsakh is on the verge of a humanitarian disaster. Many of us, including yourself and numerous other women like us, have had various occasions to collaborate, discussing topics ranging from human rights and international conventions to the essence of humanity. However, right before our very eyes, and indeed, before the eyes of the world, all these principles are being violated through despotic actions, expansionist ambitions, and the open implementation of a policy of ethnic cleansing.
Today, I warn about the deprivation of living conditions for 30,000 children in Artsakh, violating their rights to living, well-being, education, and the increasing infringement of all points of international humanitarian conventions. I am sounding the alarm about the overt attempt at ethnic cleansing and acts of terrorism. Moreover, I am drawing attention to the fact that indifference and silence merely support the prevailing white genocide.
I am sure you would not remain silent in such conditions.
Dear Ms. Silvana Koch-Mehrin,
I call on you as a responsible individual and influential figure, as a supporter of humanity and a woman who comprehends the intrinsic value of a person, to harness your influence and stand by civilized Artsakh, stand by thousands of people, mothers, children, safeguarding humanitarian interests and take steps to prevent this terrorism.
Please, inform the women participating in the Women Political Leaders forum about this matter, and use your influence to help prevent this genocide and terrorism by Azerbaijan.
The chairwoman of the “Country to Live” Party
