The hunger strike under the title “Women for Artsakh” near the UN office is continuous. Three more women joined the one-day hunger strike, telling the public that they should not be indifferent to the developments in Artsakh.
Stella Avagyan, one of the women who declared a hunger strike, said in a conversation with “Aravot” that she wants to increase people’s vigilance with her action because crisis days have begun in Artsakh. “If this continues, we must prepare for bad events, specifically physical losses.
With this step, I want to call on people to give themselves a little trouble and try to understand what is happening because many people try to detach themselves from reality; there is no compassion for our compatriots. People are disconnected from this reality and say: don’t bother us; let us live our lives; we don’t want to hear anything. I call on people to finally understand that this is a question of our existence; we need to unite and understand what to do because if this continues, we will have a loss of human lives in addition to territorial loss. When studying this historical situation, my children will ask, “Well, where were you? Based on the answer to that question, I am taking this step because I don’t want to be a part of the indifferent crowd that only cares about daily household needs,” said Stella.
She mentioned that living in Yerevan tomorrow, we will all find ourselves in the situation that the people of Artsakh are in today. “I see that today the people of Artsakh are fighting for my future. In other words, what he is going through can be the same with us. I have noticed that until this challenge appears at everyone’s door, people will not move. But let’s not let the situation come to that. I hope and wish that there will be consolidation, and finally, our nation will become a nation from the people’s level, and we will understand: what we are doing, where we are going, and how we roll the abyss by inertia”, our interlocutor added.
