On July 28, Syunik Region Governor Robert Ghukasyan presented the situation in Kornidzor to 20 representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Armenia: the humanitarian crisis in Artsakh and the disproportionate response of Azerbaijan.
Trucks with humanitarian aid sent from Armenia to Nagorno Karabakh have stood in Kornidzor for several days.
Robert Ghukasyan showed the diplomats the checkpoint illegally set up by Azerbaijan on the Hakari Bridge and that the Lachin corridor was blocked, preventing even humanitarian supplies from reaching the people of Artsakh.

The Governor mentioned that it was possible some time ago to send a minimal amount of medicine and food to Artsakh, but recently it has been impossible to send anything at all. “The cars are standing here, and it becomes impossible to transport these humanitarian goods across the border,” said Ghukasyan, pointing to the trucks. According to him, people are hungry in Artsakh, children are hungry, and Azerbaijan reacts to all this by talking about integration.
“However, do they want to achieve that integration by leading to starvation? It is unacceptable to all of us. This humanitarian cargo must reach the people who are waiting impatiently and hungry. Otherwise, we will all silently witness how the situation worsens every second,” said the Governor, addressing the diplomats, who stayed in the area for some minutes, observing and photographing it.
