The parents of the missing service members and prisoners decided to hold a protest at the government today, demanding that concrete steps be taken to return their children. But they did not approach the government building; they discussed it in the square and decided to go to the National Assembly first and meet Andranik Kocharyan, the Chairman of the Investigative Commission studying the circumstances of the 44-day war.
Harutyun Harutyunyan, the parent of the missing soldier Volodya Harutyunyan, told reporters that the government is not doing anything, a commission was created in November of last year on the issue of missing persons and prisoners, but no action was taken.
The parent of one of the missing service members said that he last met with Nikol Pashinyan on May 11. “He didn’t have an answer; he said: go, don’t you have children at home? Get along with them. He has nothing to say. He says: Do you see the state of the country? My grandfather has also been missing until today. We have adapted; you should too.”
When they were reminded that Nikol Pashinyan had said that the prisoners would forgive us for staying a couple of months longer, the parents responded: “Excuse me, what has Nikol Pashinyan said and done since 2018? Let’s start there.”
