“I have nothing to say in particular because the whole trial process, in my opinion, clearly proved that Sergo Karapetyan made the right decision. If he had not made such a decision, he would have been held accountable then and not now,” said RA third president Serzh Sargsyan in the regular court session in the “diesel case” against him.
To remind, the 3rd President of the Republic of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, was charged with occupying the position of the President of the Republic of Armenia, using his official position, in the period from January 25, 2013, to February 7 of the same year, he organized the waste of the state by a group of officials—the embezzlement of a considerable sum of money: 489 million 160 thousand AMD.
Former RA Minister of Agriculture Sergo Karapetyan, owner of “FLASH“ Limited Liability Company (LLC) Barsegh Beglaryan, and head of the Ministry of Agriculture Gevorg Harutyunyan plant breeding department are also accused in this case.
During the questioning in the courtroom, Serzh Sargsyan said: “A straightforward thing happened that project, as it turned out during the trial, could be implemented by two companies, and among them, he chose the company that offered a lower price. Honestly, I am not happy to defend the person who slandered me, but that is the reality. I think it has become clear to everyone why Sergo Karapetyan decided after several interrogations that he should give such testimony against me. I have nothing else to say.”
