“We have marked our red lines and said that we exclude any cooperation with the Civil Contract party,” in a conversation with journalists after the discussion on the topic “What to do to prevent incidents like Surmalu and disasters with such severe consequences in Yerevan and how to have a resilient city?” said Mane Tandilyan, chairman of the “Aprelu Yerkir-Country to Live”, party, candidate for mayor of Yerevan. Answering the question: will you form a coalition with the forces that have applied for participation in the elections of the Yerevan Council of Elders?
Mane Tandilyan said: we rule out the return of former customs to the management environment. She considers that among the 14 forces, there are those with whom they can cooperate. “We have no right; we cannot allow such luxury to lose potential regardless of the results. We will be ready to use the potential of those who have something to say and do in the administration of our community, Yerevan.”
Mane Tandilyan wished success to all forces and said that she hopes they will allow the people of Yerevan to choose between the good and the best rather than the good and the bad. She emphasized that the clashes should take place around the ideas of the programs. “If the people of Yerevan rightfully own the programs and information we carry, they will have no choice but to support the “Country to Live” party.
To our observation, it seems that polls show that most of the people of Yerevan would like to see a female mayor, and to the question, for example, do the problems of resilience need more women’s care or more drastic force, Mane Tandilyan answered: “I am deeply convinced that a conscious person will not differentiate between genders. Management, organizing ability, and skill do not recognize gender. When I said that, I lost sleep knowing that eighty percent of the buildings in Yerevan could be destroyed if an earthquake of the magnitude of the Spitak earthquake occurred, these are not the only words for me. I have an idea that the responsible, sitting in different places today, one, two, three, with this awareness, can sleep, wake up and do nothing in this direction; this is unacceptable. Call it feminine care, maternal care, or common sense, it doesn’t matter to me, but these problems leave no room for delay.”
