“I should not start with whether that session was held or not, but with why Armenia represents the interests of Nagorno- Karabakh. That person, Ararat Mirzoyan, had previously announced from another high podium that Armenia recognizes the territories of Azerbaijan, 86.6 thousand sq. km and added, including Nagorno-Karabakh,” said former Human Rights Defender of Armenia Larisa Alaverdyan, referring to the UN at the session of the Security Council. Larisa Alaverdyan adds: “To tell the truth, it is strange to me that after all this, that official of Armenia should represent the interests of Artsakh at the session of the UN Security Council.
This is where all the mysterious coincidences and similarities between the speeches of the representatives of Armenia and Azerbaijan come from. It was surprising as if the speeches were written in the same script.”
The former HRD of Armenia says that she is worried about the speech of the US representative at the UN, where, according to Larisa Alaverdyan, there is a specific resolution. “The US representative clearly said the following: in Nagorno- Karabakh, inhabited by Armenians, their security and rights must be protected. I am concerned that a decision can be made where that resolution will find a place. We are in a trap that has been set up since the first president of RA. He said that Armenia agrees that Nagorno- Karabakh should remain part of Azerbaijan with a very high status.
Such verbal conversations have not received a written form for years, but they created an impression among the international community that Armenia verbally recognized Nagorno- Karabakh as part of Azerbaijan. RA’s second and third presidents said that Nagorno-Karabakh has never been and will never be part of Azerbaijan. Unlike the previous ones, the fourth power spoke in square meters; it is unprecedented in international relations. There is no such case in international practice that one state recognizes the territorial integrity of another, speaks in square meters, and says, including a territory. And here is a representative of such a state as Armenia represented the interests of Artsakh in the UN.”
