To the observation that Nikol Pashinyan does not want to resign, Serzh Sargsyan, the Third President of Armenia, before the opposition rally on September 2 in Freedom Square, responded as follows: “He doesn’t want it, we want it, and we’ll see whose wish comes true.”
To the question of whether the opposition’s resistance will strengthen, Serzh Sargsyan answered: “Whenever the process takes place, I ask you, I suggest you come and cover the process.”
He answered whether round-the-clock protests are possible: “Everything is possible, everything.” To the question of whether it is possible to make a breakthrough in the Artsakh issue in the current situation, Serzh Sargsyan answered that there are possibilities.
According to him, Artsakh has always been a factor. And depending on the prevailing moods there, the leaders’ approaches, that factor has either significantly increased or decreased. “I think the situation is such that, yes, the Artsakh factor will be an essential circumstance,” he said.
