“He has been in military service since he was 18 years old. He graduated from the Vazgen Sargsyan Military Academy, and last year he completed training courses in Moscow,” said Gor Babajanyan, a relative of Major Arman Babajanyan, who died in an explosion on September 2, in an interview with Aravot.am.

To remind, according to the information of the Ministry of Defense, on September 2, at around 17:30, a serviceman of the Nth military unit of the RA Defense Force, Major Arman Rubik Babajanyan, and serviceman Arthur Hayk Poghosyan died as a result of an explosion that occurred while performing engineering works (blasting works for road construction). According to the eyewitnesses, they placed the explosive material in the stone rocks, after which they tried to regulate the operations with the remote control panel. However, seeing that it did not explode, they approached that part, and at that time, the device worked, and an explosion occurred.

Arman Babajanyan is from Sisian, 32 years old. He is married and has three sons, two of whom are in school, and one is in kindergarten. The eldest son is ten years old.

“On August 31, he took his wife and children from Sisian to Goris. On vacation, his wife and children came to Sisian; I stayed in Goris on rent due to work. I met him by chance; he was in a hurry and said I had to move up. I’ll come one weekend; we’ll talk calmly,” says Gor. He was always in hot spots during military operations, participating in the 44-day war and the September 2022 military operations. He always urged his relatives not to worry if he did not call for days. “Aren’t we busy at the positions, so I call all the time?” Don’t worry, nothing will happen to me; I will get out somehow and come home,” Arman always said.
