Taking into consideration that there is a problem of shortage of sports facilities and lack of conditions in the republic, we have proposed, in particular, to remove the sport facility at Tsitsernakaberd highway 5 from the list of alienated properties. At the sitting of the Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sport on September 6, the Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Karen Giloyan said this presenting the draft law on Amending the Law on the Privatization of State Property for 2017-2020.
The sports complex, being unique in the republic, has an administrative area, a canteen, a dormitory building designed for about 60 people, 2 gymnasiums, each with an area of 1600 square meters. The dimensions of one of the gyms correspond to the international standards of artistic gymnastics, and the Olympic Youth Sports School of Artistic Gymnastics and Acrobatics has been training there for years. The other gym was used for wrestling, judo and boxing classes. “In case of returning the sports complex to the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport and overhauling it, we will have at least one state base. The necessity is high and important, so I am asking for an endorsement,” Karen Giloyan mentioned.
The draft was endorsed.
The debate of the draft law on Making Addenda to the RA Law on Audiovisual Media authored by the deputy Sisak Gabrielyan has been postponed for up to two months.
