At the Yerevan Council of Elders meeting, the Council of Elders decided to place Charles Aznavour’s monument in Aznavour Square. Remember that before this, it was decided to put the memorial in France square.
The draft decision states that on August 31, 37 bids that participated in the open tender were presented at the commission’s session; they still need approval. The commission, considering the professional community’s opinion, unanimously proposed to hold a new competition.
In addition, the commission also suggested placing the monument in the square named after Charles Aznavour; according to the commission, the memorial in France Square will not be compatible with the architectural environment of the place. It was announced at the Council meeting that a new tender would be announced for Aznavour’s Statue, and it should be taken into account that it will be placed in Aznavour’s Square.
