“Turning Armenia into Tatarstan was not my plan. I said that Pashinyan is doing so that RA can become a part of Russia. If it’s going to happen, we must do everything to make it the lowest price:” Ruben Vardanyan

“I am neither pro-Russian nor pro-Western,” declared Ruben Vardanyan, the Coordinator of the Public Movement “Front of Security and Development of Artsakh” and former Minister of State of the Republic of Artsakh,  answering users’ questions on Facebook Live.

Vardanyan says; “I am pro-Armenian. I said that something will help Armenia and Artsakh, the Armenian world, we should use everything, and the most correct way is to learn how intelligent people behave. It is also necessary to learn from the enemy. Erdogan is an excellent example of how well he cooperates with Russia, Europe, the West, and Ukraine. It just depends on whether you have a strategy, principles, know what to do.”

Does your plan to turn Armenia into Tatarstan still exist? In response, Vardanyan said: “It was not my plan. That plan is implemented by others who want to discredit me in every way. I said that we have four scenarios, and I talked about the versions of those scenarios. And the three scenarios are that… Pashinyan, which unfortunately is the government, and without understanding, he did and is doing it in a way that will lead to many painful options, one of which may be that Armenia becomes a part of Russia, which is not acceptable to me.

But if it is going to happen, we, as people responsible not only for ourselves but for the nation, should do everything to make it the lowest price. I have always seen Armenia as a hub connecting different states of the world: Russia, Iran, the European Union, the USA, China, and India, and we have that opportunity, which we must use. It seems that those people who use this thesis want to put a “label” on you.
