The NA sixth session of the eighth convocation began in a rather complicated military-political situation for Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh. Geopolitical developments, regional events and the existing security environment around us – external and internal threats – make our political force Armenia Faction pay serious attention to such important directions as security, defense, Nagorno-Karabakh, the corridor connecting Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh during the work in the National Assembly and outside the National Assembly. This was announced by the Head of the RA NA Armenia Faction Seyran Ohanyan during the parliamentary briefings.
The Head of the Faction and the deputy Artur Khachatryan spoke about the Armenian-Azerbaijani agenda and the internal political problems, answered the journalists’ questions.
“Unfortunately, the work with the RA authorities allows us to draw a conclusion once again that they make decisions that are not consistent with the military and political situation and do not take into consideration the priority and important issues,” Seyran Ohanyan opined.
According to the Head of the Faction, one of the most important and positive events in the recent period is the election of the president of Nagorno-Karabakh. “I think that in this situation, this bold step will give an opportunity to develop the spirit of struggle that exists both in Nagorno-Karabakh and in Armenia. In this regard, Armenia Faction and our political forces will continue our activities both in the Parliament and outside the Parliament, mainly security issues, to advance the important agendas for our country and to generate the spirit of the struggle, which should be aimed at stopping the abdication and the fight against the RA authorities, which are the main cause of it,” Seyran Ohanyan said.

Presenting his observations on the issue of the border tension, the Head of the Faction noted that the full potential of the republic should be used to strengthen the defense capabilities, the army should be equipped with personnel, weapons and military equipment, an educational process should be carried out, military exercises should be conducted. According to him, the activity of the opposition is aimed at raising the spirit of resistance to the struggle.
The deputy of Armenia Faction Artur Khachatryan also presented his observations and views on internal political and regional issues. According to him, peace should be ensured with our own army and flexible diplomacy, while instead of developing the army, the Government develops the police. Diplomacy, in his assessment, is weak, no success has been recorded. Speaking about the arrangements for reopening the Lachin Corridor, Artur Khachatryan mentioned that the words of Azerbaijan and their guarantees cannot be believed and trusted. Once again, Azerbaijan proved that it is a liar and does not fulfill any promises.
