Dmitri Sasnovich, the General Director of the Eastern branch of the leading Swiss ropeway design and construction company “Bartolet” arrived in Armenia at the invitation of the “Country to Live” party. On September 14, Mane Tandilyan, the Leader of the “Country to Live” party and Yerevan Mayor candidate, party Co-Founder, and Council Candidate Mesrop Arakelyan, other party teammates and council candidates, along with Dmitri Sasnovich, toured the parts of Yerevan where the cable car junctions are planned to be built. They also discussed the prospects of introducing a modern and safe urban ropeway system in Yerevan and possible ways of cooperation.
“This place where we are now is a great place to invest in an urban transportation system. The company I represent has a lot of experience in this field. This place provides an opportunity to combine the urban environment and various means of transportation; the introduction of the cable car will meet both the transportation needs of the citizens, the residents, and tourists, who can enjoy wonderful places.”
What are the obstacles in Yerevan for the implementation of the ropeway, he answered. “First of all, the ropeway system provides an opportunity to solve some of the city’s biggest problems. There are already ropeways and roads in the city, which were designed years ago, and by introducing a new ropeway, the problem of modernization can be solved. Second, the cableway system enables the transportation of many people at once; within 1 hour, 2000-3000 people can travel by the cableway system, passing from one part of the city to another. In addition, this is a fairly advanced system from an environmental point of view since the percentage of emissions is zero. Even during construction, emissions do not harm the city in terms of air pollution.”

We are glad to have this support.
Regarding timing, the beauty of rolling out the ropeway is that it’s phased. We will build the first line, let’s say, in 10 months or a year, and after building it, it will be ready for use immediately. In 3.5 years, we plan to implement it fully. That is a job for us, which we will prove in action. When they ask me when we will start, I say September 18. People will soon be able to see that our promises are coming true very quickly.”
