Azerbaijani expert Grigory Ayvazyan spoke to “Aravot” about the Azerbaijani attack in the direction of Artsakh. “Baku has not hidden that depopulation is integral to its policy towards Artsakh. Now we see that step by step, also due to the indifference of the international community, Azerbaijan manages to achieve its goal to some extent. They have already announced several times that the way is open for the Armenian population to go from Artsakh to Armenia.
And step by step, they implement it. And I don’t see a unanimous opinion of the society regarding this issue that the aggression should be stopped. The atmosphere of conciliation has been instilled in people so much that the level of defense ability has dropped enough. But I warn that this will not end; after Artsakh, the next attack will be in the direction of Sevan Basin, Zangezur.
So, some people will not be happy that it will end with this. Those who are rejoicing today will cry in front of their children’s coffins tomorrow, but not on the Artsakh front, but in different regions of Armenia. Let them rejoice; let’s see how long their bloody revelry will last. At what price will they get the seeming peace, and who will pay for it?” said Ayvazyan.
According to the Azerbaijani expert, Baku does not hide its goals; it has set a plan to destroy the Artsakh Defense Army at this stage. “If no Artsakh Defense Army exists, who should carry out patrols?” If there is no Defense Army, there will be nothing left of Artsakh tomorrow. The Defense Army is the last link restraining Azerbaijan,” said Ayvazyan.

According to him, significant work must be done on all fronts, whether diplomatic or military. The army should be brought to a high level of combat readiness. “Otherwise, the situation will be bad, including the territory of Armenia,” he said.
