The Meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and Iran
On September 19, in New York, within the framework of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan had a meeting with Hossein Amir Abdollahian, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Ararat Mirzoyan emphasized that the large-scale aggression unleashed by Azerbaijan against people of Nagorno-Karabakh jeopardizes the stability in the entire South Caucasus.
Minister of Foreign Affaires of Armenia briefed his counterpart on the details of Azerbaijan’s actions, emphasizing that all international partners interested in stability in the region must clearly condemn the aggression and any attempt to solve problems through the use of force and threat of force, and bring Azerbaijan to a constructive track.

Foreign Minister of Armenia emphasized that Azerbaijan’s actions once again demonstrate the imperative to prevent the ethnic cleansing of people of Nagorno-Karabakh and to create mechanisms to ensure the rights and security of people of Nagorno-Karabakh within the context of establishing lasting peace in the region.
Issues related to bilateral relations were also discussed at the meeting. Both sides reaffirmed the agreement to continue discussions on different platforms and formats.
