Medical workers protested near the Armenian office of the International Committee of the Red Cross. They demanded the Armenian delegation of the committee to mediate and organize the immediate transfer of the wounded from Artsakh, who are not receiving appropriate medical care, to Armenia, as well as to ensure the transfer of Armenian medical workers to Artsakh to provide professional support.
“Remember your mission; don’t confuse neutrality with indifference and inaction. What did the Red Cross do during these three days, what was the Red Cross created for, and what is your office in Geneva for? Providing humanitarian assistance is one of the important components of your humanitarian activities. “How is it that in other countries, you can represent the interests of the people of that country, and when the issue comes to the Armenians living in Artsakh, you become an international organization and remember your neutrality,” said the demonstration participants.
“Here are the people who do not want and are not ready to leave their wounded friend on the battlefield. Here are the people who never remained indifferent to Artsakh. Here are the people who went to Artsakh many times voluntarily, within the framework of various initiatives, fulfilled their functions being faithful to their oath,” said one of the medical workers.
The demonstration participants mentioned that the Armenian committee office receives the report from the Red Cross of Artsakh, which is familiar with the situation. “They know that the wounded cannot receive appropriate medical care because Artsakh has been starving for nine months; there is a shortage of doctors and medical workers. You know all this very well, why don’t you act? Please do not send us to different places: government, embassies, we know the places of those addresses very well. We have been knocking on those doors for nine months, including yours.”
