As we have informed, the Azerbaijanis kidnapped Ruben Vardanyan, the former Minister of State of Artsakh, while passing through the Lachin Corridor. At the same time, yesterday, Samvel Babayan told on Public Television that he calmly crossed the same border wearing “sports clothes,” smiling, and arrived safely in Yerevan.
In this regard, in a conversation with Aravot.am, Artur Khachatryan, Deputy of the “Hayastan” faction, said: “The fact that Azerbaijan arrests critics of Nikol Pashinyan and that on the eve of the capitulation of November 9, 2020, Samvel Babayan resigns and comes to Armenia raises doubts. It raises doubts that Pashinyan says that a war broke out in Artsakh because a government was elected that was more radical and more determined about the Artsakh issue, thereby drawing parallels to what could happen to Armenia if suddenly more independent authorities came to Armenia.
It means either I will be the Prime Minister of Armenia, or Armenia will no longer exist because only it can ensure that Azerbaijan does not attack Armenia; that is, there will be a government that will please Azerbaijan, it will be a puppet government. All this raises reasonable suspicions, the answer to which we all probably know and understand.”

In this regard, Artur Khachatryan said: “He wants to say: if they come to Armenia, Armenia will arrest them; if they stay in Artsakh, Azerbaijanis will arrest them. Nikol’s government, members of the Civil Contract, and subordinate princes of various calibers, perhaps well trained in Goebbels-style propaganda, but in essence, they are no different from Lavrenty Beria. Beria called whoever he didn’t like an agent of some foreign country. These are Beria by nature.
