The RA NA President Alen Simonyan met with the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk in Dublin on September 29.
At the meeting, the RA NA President introduced the details of the events preceding the forced displacement of the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh, listing the security problems and the consequences of the large-scale attack by the Azerbaijani armed forces. The Ukrainian colleague highlighted the importance of the bilateral meeting, expressing his willingness to cooperate on multilateral platforms as well.
Prospects for the development of inter-parliamentary ties were discussed. Both sides emphasized the role of Parliaments in international relations, underlining the broad opportunities of parliamentary diplomacy. The parties considered the urgency of establishing peace and solving security problems in the region as a priority.
