Establishing stability and peace in the region is excluded without settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh issue. David Shahnazaryan

October 02,2023 10:33

I have already announced that I do not accept the capitulation statement of Samvel Shahramanyan, the President of Artsakh appointed by Moscow, on September 20. I also do not accept the decree of September 28 of Samvel Shahramanyan terminating the existence of the Republic of Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh).

These “documents” written in Moscow, which Shahramanyan signed as a citizen of Azerbaijan, not only do not have any legal basis, but politically, they cannot in any way justify the ethnic cleansing in Artsakh organized by Baku and the Kremlin.

More than half a year ago, I announced that even if the authorities of Artsakh declare that they agree to be part of Azerbaijan because at that time I already had grounds for such doubts, the issue of Artsakh will not be closed. Even now, I am more than sure that without settling the Nagorno-Karabakh issue, the establishment of stability and peace in the region is excluded.

David SHAHNAZARYAN

Quote from David Shahnazaryan’s speech on March 3, 2023 (minutes 23:35-24:48).

“No matter how much they try to convince the authorities of Artsakh to declare that they agree to be part of Azerbaijan, I do not rule out that the current authorities of Artsakh will make such a statement, but that does not mean closing the issue of Artsakh, everything will be decided by the people of Artsakh. It will not mean that the issue of Nagorno Karabakh is closed. And that way of thinking that the issue of Nagorno Karabakh will be closed like that, they are mistaken in Baku, Ankara, in the building across the street (he means the RA government building), and also in Moscow… The issue of Artsakh will not be closed. Without the issue of Artsakh, it is impossible to establish stability in this region.”
