Christoph Hoffmann expressed his concern that the problems are solved not in peaceful, but in military manner

The visit of the delegation led by the Chair of the NA Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs Gevorg Papoyan to Germany for deepening the Armenian-German political and economic relations continues. The Committee Chair met with the Chairman of the Committee on Economic Affairs of the Bundestag of Germany Michael Grosse-Brömer within the framework of the visit.

During the meeting the issues regarding the investment environment of Armenia in renewable energy, the processing of copper ore, the design of microchips and other spheres and the investment interests of the German side.

He also presented to Grosse-Brömer the issues of forcible displacement of the Nagorno Karabakh Armenians and their social and economic involvement in Armenia, and in that context he touched upon the possible support of Germany.

Within the framework of the visit to the Bundestag of Germany the NA delegation met with the members of the Committees on Finance, on Foreign Affairs and on Economic Cooperation and Development.

The Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Economic Cooperation and Development. Christoph Hoffmann gave an introductory speech and welcomed the guests, noting that from 1991 Armenia is an active follower of the Eastern policy. He underlined that they perceive Armenia as a partner. Mentioning the situation created around Nagorno Karabakh, the fact of more than hundreds of thousands forcibly displaced people, Christoph Hoffmann expressed his concern that the problems are solved not in peaceful, but in military manner.

The Head of the RA NA delegation Gevorg Papoyan expressed his gratitude for the opportunity of the extended meeting with a large number of members. He presented the situation created in the Republic of Armenia and the region, underlined the commitment of the Republic of Armenia to democratic values, highly appreciated the positive mediation efforts and the targeted statements of Germany. As a way to overcome the situation, Gevorg Papoyan highlighted the development of the economy of the Republic of Armenia.

Highly appreciating the necessity of experience and support of Germany for Armenia, the Head of the NA delegation expressed hope that with joint efforts, as well as with the assistance of Germany, the economic and political relations between Armenia and Germany will enter a new phase. He stressed that mutually beneficial economic relations can be achieved through active cooperation on both sides.

At the end of the meeting, the members of the NA delegation, the deputies Arusyak Manavazyan, Narek Grigoryan, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to Germany Viktor Yengibaryan answered the questions of the Bundestag members.

The questions referred to the mechanisms of social protection of forcibly displaced Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh, the regional situation, the possibilities of unblocking the roads, the possibilities of concluding a peace treaty, etc.
