A regular Cabinet meeting took place today, chaired by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
The Government has approved the measure and the procedure for providing social assistance to those forcibly displaced from Nagorno Karabakh since September 19, 2023 to live in a temporary accommodation and/or to support the payment of utilities costs. According to the substantiation, our compatriots forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh from September 19, 2023 need periodic social support in the form of money to live in temporary accommodation, as well as to pay for utilities. Accordingly, it is planned to provide them with social support for a period of 6 months: 40,000 AMD per month for living in a temporary accommodation and 10,000 AMD for paying for utilities. Commenting on the measure, Nikol Pashinyan emphasized the need to carry out the process transparently. “About 27 billion AMD will be spent from the state budget for this measure within six months. It is very important for our public and, in general, for accountability, to ensure a certain level of transparency here as well, and this is not only for receiving the money, but also the purposeful spending of the money,” said the Head of the Government.
The Prime Minister noted that the Government has allocated around 100 million USD to the forcibly displaced people from Nagorno-Karabakh through various programs.
The government adopted a decision on accepting property as a donation.
