After the speech of the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, in the European Parliament, there are comments that he is following the path of the President of Ukraine. Is there a change in the vector? In response to this question of the journalists in the National Assembly, Sargis Khandanyan, the chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the National Assembly, said: “No, there is no question of changing the vector because the vector is aimed at ensuring the independence and sovereignty of the Republic of Armenia. The vector is to ensure our sovereignty and territorial integrity.”
When asked what is Armenia’s foreign orientation, he repeated. “Implementation of such a foreign policy that will ensure the security, independence, and sovereignty of RA,” Khandanyan answered who should ensure it, Russia or the West.
“First of all, the Armed Forces of Armenia, when it comes to ensuring security and balanced foreign policy and deepening relations with all partners who share that Armenia’s territorial integrity must remain unshakable, Armenia’s independence and sovereignty are non-negotiable values.”
He assured that now the issue of leaving the CSTO and EAEU is not being discussed, and there is no provocation in Pashinyan’s speech. Khandanyan replied: “There are negotiations on the peace agenda; on which platform will this issue continue to be discussed? Maybe Aliyev will boycott the western platforms.”

“It is not so much the platform that is important here as the change in Aliyev’s position or the detailed confirmation of the principles on which the negotiations took place. It refers to the principles included in the EU Council President’s statement after the meeting in Brussels in July of this year, which RA reaffirmed. Reaffirming these principles by the President of Azerbaijan will create grounds for signing a peace agreement as soon as possible. And in yesterday’s speech, the Prime Minister talked about our commitment and Armenia’s loyalty to that agenda.”
To the question, Nikol Pashinyan said that when Azerbaijan resorts to provocation, foreign forces try to form a government in Armenia. Which foreign force are we talking about? Khandanyan answered. “If you pay attention to the vocabulary in the foreign media, for example, the thoughts expressed by journalists and experts who are very active in the Russian state channels, you will hear that the people are called to go to the streets and change the authorities. This is one example of them. You have to be attentive and look at what kind of impulses there are.”
Aliyev announced that they would enter Zangezur and Syunik in passenger cars. When asked how you are talking about peace with Azerbaijan, Sargis Khandanyan answered: “We are also talking about entering Azerbaijan with passenger vehicles, and the entire agenda of de-blockade is about this, so that we can go through the territory of Azerbaijan with trucks and passenger vehicles, for example, Russia and Azerbaijan can go to Nakhichevan and Turkey with passenger vehicles and trucks, passing all border checks.” : To the observation that Azerbaijan does not recognize the territorial integrity of Armenia, Khandanyan responded that this is the reason why the process is slowing down.
“When Azerbaijan shows loyalty to the three principles, including recognizing Armenia’s territorial integrity with a digital equivalent, we can solve some problems.”
