The people of Artsakh protested in front of the French Embassy to Armenia, demanding asylum from Western countries for the people of Artsakh. “It’s not true that we came to the French embassy, but our three-year-old refugee arrests on the streets of Yerevan and our meetings with various government officials forced us to make this decision. They don’t give us citizenship here; they don’t give us refugee status. The three international criminals responsible for our current situation, Nikol Pashinyan, Putin, and Aliyev, have not backed down from their plan to integrate the people of Artsakh into Azerbaijan,” Levon Hayryan, The Chair of the “For the Sake of Hadrut“ NGO, told the reporters.
He mentioned that today, the authorities of Armenia do not grant refugee status to forcibly displaced Artsakh residents to force them to return to Artsakh. According to him, the people of Artsakh will only return to Artsakh on the condition that there is an Armenian government in Artsakh.
“Since 100,000 people from Artsakh have not crossed the border, some demagogues here began to announce that those Artsakh citizens who will demonstrate should be deprived of aid. In other words, a citizen of Artsakh does not even have the right to complain about his situation in this country.

Hayryan said that today, they are applying to the French Embassy, and shortly, they will also apply to the embassies of Italy, Germany, and other countries. An application with about 5,000 signatures has already been handed over to the German Embassy, asking them to provide asylum to the Armenian community of Artsakh.
According to Hayryan, leaving the homeland is not easy; they have been waiting for so many years with hope and faith that the authorities should return Artsakh, and they should be back. “But the situation worsened; we fought in the streets of Yerevan for three years, did not achieve any results, and met with all the big and small officials of Armenia. They even held a big conference, promised to solve the issue of refugee status, and then buried it.
Nikol Pashinyan’s “fathers” and “uncles” force him to say there are no refugees in Armenia. There is no refugee, no problem. By delaying this issue, one part will be removed from here, and the other part will be made a citizen of Armenia, just to show the world that there is no problem,” added Levon Hayryan.
He called on the people of Artsakh to come together to discuss their future. “If we do not accept collective solutions about our future, the issues of all of us will be solved individually very poorly,” he emphasized. The representative of the French Embassy listened to the questions raised by the representatives of Artsakh residents, promising to give written answers to all questions.
