One unified state duty rate to be set for providing return certificate to RA

October 21,2023 14:14

It is proposed by the draft to set one unified state duty rate for providing return certificate to the RA, as at present the state duty rates for providing return certificate to Armenia are set for two cases. First, when the applicant does not submit a document approving his/her person for the return to Armenia and second, when the person submits an invalid or expired document.

The Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs in the second reading debated the revised draft of the law on Making Amendments and Addenda to the law on State Duty, which presented the Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan.

It is also proposed to recognize invalid the rate set for the function of the Civil Acts Registration Services (CARS) and add rendering another consular service rate, which at present is not set. The third amendment proposes to set state duty rates designed for rendering some consular services through video conference. The fourth amendment proposes to remove the provision on exempting the RA citizens receiving passport for the first time after turning 16.

After being passed in the first reading the Government made one amendment in the draft, which refers to the term of the law entering into force.

On October 20, the Committee endorsed the debated draft.
