The transfer of funds for apartment rent (40,000 AMD) and utility costs (10,000 AMD) will begin this week

Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Vache Terteryan and Prime Minister’s Press Secretary Nazeli Baghdasaryan presented from the government’s “Humanitarian Center” the programs of the Armenian government aimed at solving the humanitarian problems of people forcibly displaced from Nagorno Karabakh.

First, Nazeli Baghdasaryan presented that on October 20, one-time support of 100,000 AMD was paid to another 15,207 forcibly displaced people from Nagorno-Karabakh (9,447 minors, 5,760 adults). Thus, more than 95,200 people have already benefitted from the program. The payment process continues. She reminded that people in the age group over 75 or with first and second degree disabilities can receive the money through Haypost.

The Prime Minister’s press secretary reminded that the transfer of funds for apartment rent (40,000 AMD) and utility costs (10,000 AMD) will begin thi week.

According to the data provided by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, as of October 20, 15,388 children forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh were enrolled in the schools of the regions of Armenia and Yerevan. The distrinution is as follows: Syunik 585, Vayots Dzor 324, Gegharkunik 737, Ararat 2085, Kotayk 2873, Aragatsotn 720, Armavir 1298, Shirak 629, Lori 905, Tavush 477, Yerevan 4791.

Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Vache Terteryan said that more than 55,000 people found accommodation with government support, more than 25,000 people found a place of residence on their own initiative.

“All the hreads of regional administrations, together with the colleagues of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, in particular, with the employees of the Unified Social Service, assess their needs on a daily basis, and also ongoing registration of needs takes place, because the process is dynamic,” Vache Terteryan said, emphasizing that displaced persons are under constant care. According to the deputy minister, during the last 3-4 days, about 1000 people left the hotels and guesthouses and moved to other places of residence of their choice.

Vache Terteryan emphasized that the government allocated more than 2 billion 260 million AMD to regional administrations. Funds were disbursed in multiple directions to address a wide variety of issues related to food, hotel/guesthouse and other daily essentials issues.

Nazeli Baghdasaryan reminded once again that although the assistance provided by the Government at this stage is given in cash to people in the age group above 75, or those with first or second degree disabilities, but to benefit from future assistance programs, it will be necessary to open bank card accounts. The press secretary of the Prime Minister noted that this approach of the Government is related to making the implementation of the processes transparent.

According to the data presented by the Ministry of Health, as of now, 41,280 compatriots forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh have been registered in polyclinics and outpatient clinics.

The number of patients transferred from Nagorno-Karabakh to Armenia due to military operations and the explosion near Stepanakert and receiving treatment in various medical centers of the capital is 151. Over the past week, 100 patients have been discharged, but are still under the outpatient supervision of doctors. 88 children were born in the families of forcibly displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh: 45 in Yerevan, 43 in regions.
