On October 23, the RA NA President Alen Simonyan received the delegation led by the Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the German Bundestag Michael Roth.
The colleagues highlighted the sustainable development of the bilateral friendly relations and strengthening of inter-parliamentary cooperation.
At the meeting reference was made to the depopulation of Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh because of the Azeri policy of ethnic cleansing and the problems caused as a consequence of it. The German parliamentarian noticed that sufficient steps were not taken to prevent the Azerbaijani aggression against the population of Nagorno-Karabakh.

On behalf of the RA National Assembly and him, Alen Simonyan expressed his gratitude for the principled and targeted speech regarding the war unleashed by Azerbaijan in Nagorno Karabakh made during the September 21 UN Security Council session on Nagorno-Karabakh.
The sides discussed the need for possible sanctions against Azerbaijan. The RA NA President reaffirmed that Armenia has adopted a peace agenda and is proposing a roadmap for regional peace.
