The delegation led by the RA NA Vice President Hakob Arshakyan is in Luanda to take part in the 147th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union on October 22-27.
The MPs Tsovinar Vardanyan and Arsen Torosyan are in the delegation.
As part of the visit, Hakob Arshakyan met with the delegation led by the Head of the French delegation to the Inter-Parliamentary Union Louis-Jean de Nicolay.
The NA Vice President emphasized the support of France in condemning aggressive policy of Azerbaijan, mentioning in this context the convening of the UN Security Council meetings at the initiative of France and the two visits of the President of the National Assembly of the Republic of France Yael Braun-Pivet, the President of the Senate Gérard Larcher, and the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Catherine Colonna to Armenia.

Hakob Arshakyan spoke about the problems of more than one hundred thousand Armenians who were ethnically cleansed as a result of the attack of Azerbaijan, thanked his French colleagues for the support provided.
“Since 2021, Azerbaijan has violated the territorial integrity of Armenia and illegally occupied territory of around 150 square kilometers,” the NA Vice President mentioned.
He expressed conviction that the French colleagues will continue their efforts to provide primary humanitarian aid to the people of Nagorno-Karabakh, as well as to support the territorial integrity of the Republic of Armenia on both bilateral and multilateral platforms, including the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
The Head of the French delegation expressed his support to Armenia and noted that France stands by Armenia in overcoming challenges, supports Armenia’s territorial integrity, independence and democracy.
