It is proposed for inspection and accounting of the sub-excise goods by the customs bodies to set state duty rate hike. It will also refer to the kinds of goods, which were imported to Armenia, were obtained status of the EEU goods and are exported from territory of the Republic of Armenia. The current rate is 1000 AMD for one tonne, three hundred for every additional tonne. It is proposed to increase the state duty rate, setting 10000 AMD in the ten-fold amount of the base duty for the inspection of one tonne and 1000 AMD more for every tonne.
The Deputy Chairman of the RA State Revenue Committee (SRC) Artur Manukyan detailed the abovementioned regulations presenting in the first reading the addenda being proposed in the law on State Duty.

In response, the Deputy Chair of the Standing Committee on Economic Affairs Babken Tunyan noted that additional opportunity was given for those being engaged with the foreign economic activity by the legislative amendment made last year. If they import sub-excise goods, for which excise tax is paid, then they decide to export those goods, then the Government returns one part of the paid excise tax., as they were not consumed in the inner market. In accordance of agreement, the excise tax will be returned within the framework of 50%-70%, as the customs body spends resource and carries out quality control. Babken Tunyan mentioned that in the near future the Government made a decision for the entities’ benefit to return that tax completely to the entities. “On one hand with this initiative the State Revenue Committee reviews the current rate for years, which because of inflation and the remaining part was not indexed for a long time, on the other hand, the SRC tries to compensate the loss, which could be. We have given an opportunity of additional 10 points by the legislative amendment to the entities, now in the amount of relatively one point we give an opportunity to the SRC for their activities,” the Deputy Chair of the Committee clarified.
