The delegation led by Hakob Arshakyan met with the delegation led by the Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia Shalva Papuashvili within the framework of the 147th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
The NA Vice President noted that Armenia is concerned about the issues of the establishment of strategic partnership by the logic of the development of special good neighbourly relations with Georgia.
Hakob Arshakyan underlined the implementation of the Agreement on the visits by identification cards – without visa of the citizens of the two states between the Republic of Armenia and Georgia.
The NA Deputy Speaker highlighted the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation between the Committees on Foreign Relations, the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation between the Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sport of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia and the Culture Committee of the Parliament of Georgia, as well as noted that the sides came to preliminary agreement on creating Inter-Parliamentary Committee on Economic Cooperation.

Hakob Arshakyan expressed satisfaction with the active cooperation between the standing committees and friendship groups of the parliaments of the two countries.
The Deputy Speaker of the Parliament also emphasized the strengthening of the regional security and stability and noted that high level of the relations between Armenia and Georgia is one of the important factors of ensuring security in the South Caucasus.
Reference was also made to the participation of the Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in the Tbilisi Silk Road Forum, where the Crossroads of Peace Project and its principles were presented.
The Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia welcomed the idea of the Crossroads of Peace Project, attaching importance to the regional peace and the unblocking of the roads in the context of the development of economic relations and regional opportunities.
Shalva Papuashvili underscored the importance of reaching stable peace on the basis of the principle of the territorial integrity of the countries.
“It is difficult to reach economic development without long-term peace,” the Head of the Parliament of Georgia mentioned.
The deputies Tsovinar Vardanyan and Arsen Torosyan took part in the meeting.
