The deputies of the Indian delegation expressed their gratitude for the opportunity of education in Armenia for more than 4000 Indian students

The delegation led by the RA NA Vice President Hakob Arshakyan met with the Indian delegation in the Inter-Parliamentary Union within the framework of the 147th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union.

Hakob Arshakyan noted that the priority of Armenia’s foreign policy is the strengthening and deepening of multilateral relations with India, which is one of the world’s largest and most dynamically developing democratic states.

The Vice President highlighted the inter-parliamentary cooperation, which has always been at a high level and plays a key role in the development of cooperation between our states.

“The Armenia-India Friendship Group operating in the National Assembly, which I have the honor to lead, is traditionally one of the largest groups. I am hopeful for the creation of the Friendship Group with Armenia in the Parliament of India as well, which will provide an excellent opportunity for active cooperation,” Hakob Arshakyan said.

The NA Vice President underlined that Armenia is concerned about the development of mutually beneficial cooperation with friendly India in various spheres, including defense, culture, science and education, high technologies, tourism and other spheres.

Hakob Arshakyan presented the idea of the Crossroads of Peace suggested by Armenia, emphasizing the importance of the road map for peace in the region.

The deputies of the Indian delegation underscored that Armenia is a key partner for India, mentioning that the relations between the parties today reflect the age-old friendship of the Indian and Armenian peoples.

The Indian deputies noted that there are Armenian churches and educational centers in Madras and Calcutta. The first Armenian printing was done in India, even the first Indian sound disc recording was performed by a classical singer of Armenian origin.

The parties also highlighted the visit of the Indian Foreign Minister to independent Armenia for the first time in history.

The deputies of the Indian delegation expressed their gratitude for the opportunity of education in Armenia for more than 4000 Indian students.

The MPs expressed their willingness to make efforts for the development of relations.

The MPs Tsovinar Vardanyan and Arsen Torosyan are in the delegation.
