Audit Chamber to carry out 40 audits in 2024

In 2024, budgetary bid to ensure the regular activity of the RA Audit Chamber was compiled and was proposed for debate, taking as a basis the functioning legal regulations and methodology: The Chairman of the RA Audit Chamber Atom Janjughazyan said during the debate of the RA draft law on RA State Budget for 2024 at the joint sitting of the NA Standing Committees.

According to him, for 2024 about 1.2 billion AMD will be requested. Atom Janjughazyan informed that particularly it will be directed to presenting the mission of the foreign state audit function, which means to promote the improvement of the state property management.

The Chairman of the RA Audit Chamber noted that the continuation of legal regulations will be in 2024, which today function, and the conclusion on the report of the budget execution being a minimum legislative demand corresponding to them will be presented. This is the group of the resulting indicator, which is included in the budgetary bid, and within its framework it is designed to carry out 40 audits in 10 state bodies.

Atom Janjughazyan informed that this year certain changes were initiated and made in the structure: 6 structural sub-divisions function instead of 10, which carry out audits. He added that it is not excluded to make this change before completing the draft budget. “It absolutely refers to the qualitative indicator; it does not mean at all that the quality or the will be changed, which is expected to receive,” he said.

The Chairman of the RA Audit Chamber touched upon the audits included in the second part, and its qualitative indicator is 10, and it is implied that as a result of the activity in 2024, the Audit Chamber will present an opinion, proposals, which will boost the improvement of the public property management.

It is designed by the third part of the programme to carry out measures within the framework of the international cooperation.

“We presented about 1.2 billion AMD, and its 90 percent comprise the current expenses, 86 percent of it are the expenses of the job payment,” Atom Janjughazyan said.

According to him, purchase programme of the goods and services of about 37 million AMD is envisaged, the means being expected for the rent is 44 million AMD, and the reserve fund is 20 million AMD.

Regarding the existing problems, he informed that the issues of improving the technical equipment, building facilities and upgrading the transport means in the budget are proposed.
