Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Araxia Svajyan, Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Anna Zhamakochyan and Press Secretary of the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Zaruhi Manucharyan presented at the briefing held at the “Humanitarian Center” the Government’s programs aimed at solving the humanitarian problems of people forcibly displaced from Nagorno Karabakh.
As Zaruhi Manucharyan noted, around 100 thousand people have already benefited from the 100 thousand AMD one-time support program. This week, a payment was also made within the framework of the AMD 40+10,000 support program for house renting and utility expenses.
As a result, 73,196 people have already benefited from the program. 69,199 of them received support in the amount of 40+10,000 AMD, and 3,997 in the amount of 10,000 AMD. It was also noted that the range of beneficiaries has been expanded with the latest changes. one-time monetary social support will also be given to persons transferred to Armenia through the ICRC after the closing of the Lachin Corridor.
Anna Zhamakochyan, Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, referring to the progress of the AMD 40+10 thousand support program, noted that there was no requirement for submission of applications for the month of October. According to the deputy minister, support will be provided under special conditions starting from November. First, all those people for whose accommodation is ensured by state funds will not be beneficiaries. This is about people staying in institutions of social protection of the population or in state-community-owned areas, in hotels. The beneficiaries of the program will need to complete an online application for November.

“Special attention should be paid to the fact that when submitting an application, personal data, personal data of residents of the same address, address, feedback e-mail address, mobile phone number and electricity service subscriber number should be provided. In the case of minors, a photocopy of the child’s birth certificate should also be attached, and if the applicant is the guardian or trustee, the document confirming that fact should also be attached,” said Anna Zhamakochyan.
The deputy minister informed that the procedure is simplified as much as possible. The Ministry will provide the link for the online application in the near future, and there will also be guidelines for filling out the application.
Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Araxia Svajyan referred to the programs implemented in the field of education and noted that as of October 31, 16,371 children forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh are studying in the schools of the regions of Armenia and Yerevan, of which 5,185 are in Yerevan, the rest in regions. The Deputy Minister of Education and Culture urged the parents whose children are not yet attending schools to contact the nearest educational institution in their place of residence and ensure the continuity of their children’s education. “The program of ensuring the continuity of education in primary and secondary vocational educational institutions, as well as in higher educational institutions, is also continuing. At the moment, 991 students are studying in primary and secondary professional educational institutions, 1645 students are studying in universities,” said the deputy minister.
Referring to the support program for forcibly displaced teachers from Nagorno-Karabakh, Araxia Svajyan noted that 126 beneficiaries have applied so far, of which 52 are already working. The Deputy Minister reminded that teachers forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh will receive a 30% bonus when they start working in schools in all regions of the republic, and in the case of Syunik, Vayots Dzor regions or Chambarak and Vardenis communities of Gegharkunik region, Noyemberyan, Ijevan and Berd communities of Tavush region, in addition to the 30 percent additional payment, they will also have a monthly additional payment of 50,000 AMD.
