Presenting the 2024 allocations of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, the RA Deputy Minister of Finance Vahan Sirunyan noted that 345 billion 417 million drams are planned for general expenditures, which have increased by 38% compared to last year’s expenses. 62% are current expenses, 129 billion drams are planned for capital expenditures.
The expenses of the education sector will be 285 billion drams, which have increased by 47% compared to the previous year. The expenses of the science sector will be 32 billion 498 million drams, compared to the previous year, the increase was 8%. The expenses of the culture sector will be 18 billion 909 million drams, to the sports sector – 6 billion 656 million drams, to the youth sector – 2 billion 331 million drams. In total, 22 programmes with 200 measures will be implemented.
According to the RA 2024 state budget, it is planned to allocate 345 billion 417 million drams, which has increased by 95 billion 148 million drams or 38% compared to last year’s expenses. This is an unprecedented increase,” the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan said.
On November 2, at the joint sitting of the NA Standing Committees on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sport and on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs, chaired by Sisak Gabrielyan and Gevorg Papoyan, the 2024 budget plans and financial allocations of the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports were debated.
