In 2024, 8 billion 792 AMD was designed to allocate to the Ministry of Environment. Compared with the current year the budget increased by 384 million AMD. The Minister of Environment Hakob Simidyan said this at the joint sitting of the RA NA Standing Committee on Territorial Administration, Local Self-Government, Agriculture and on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs on November 2, presenting the designing allocations and the programmes to be implemented to the Ministry.
The first is the programme Environmental Monitoring and Assessment with three events. In 2024 we envisage to buy two automatic observation stations for air monitoring. In essence, these devices will give complete new data on air pollution within real terms. The second: The maintenance expenditures of the Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center, where 42 million AMD are included for the maintenance of the devices, as well as 60 million AMD, by which for the first timer the monitoring of the Lake Sevan water will be financed,” the Minister noted. The next programme is considered to be the maintenance expenditures of the SNCO Expert Centre of Environmental Impact: In 2024, it will be 250 million AMD. 1.3 billion AMD was designed to allocate for the Project Development of state policy in the environmental sphere and coordination and monitoring, and 322 million AMD – for the project Implementation of Environmental Programmes in the communities.
Hakob Simidyan answered the deputies’ questions, presenting details on the programmes and the mechanisms of the work implementation.
