It is planned to increase revenues of city of Yerevan in 2024

In 2024, it is planned to increase the revenue of the city of Yerevan: Instead of 38 billion 799 million drams collected this year, it is predicted to collect 45 billion 259 million drams. The subsidy allocated to the city of Yerevan decreases by about 5 billion drams, from 13.430 million to 8 billion 436 million drams.

Subsidies that were previously provided to the city of Yerevan are also significantly reduced: The Mayor of Yerevan Tigran Avinyan said presenting the 2024 budget allocation of Yerevan Municipality at the joint sitting of the RA NA Standing Committees on Territorial Administration, Local Self-Government, Agriculture and Environment Protection and on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs on November 2.

“This year, the city of Yerevan is implementing capital investment projects worth approximately 10 billion drams, which are proposed not to be included in the draft budget,” the rapporteur underlined.

It was noted that 24 kindergartens are being renovated and put into operation this year: 33 kindergartens are planned next year, and 35 – in 2025. Tigran Avinyan also spoke about the process of modernization of the transport network.

According to the Mayor of Yerevan, the proposed budget will create bigger projects and wider opportunities for distant communities.

Answering the deputies’ questions, the Mayor touched upon the increase in the powers of the heads of administrative districts, the lack of some infrastructures, particularly kindergartens and schools, in the newly built multi-residential neighbourhoods, the demolition of illegal and semi-constructed buildings.

Tigran Avinyan informed that money has been allocated to Yerevan project to carry out the design of the new master plan. It was noted that parallel to this, Yerevan Municipality initiated a process of determining the borders with the neighbouring communities.

The representatives of the regions also answered the deputies’ questions.
