Media Literacy Week 2023 in Armenia was launched on 6 November. It is held every fall following UNESCO’s Global Media and Information Literacy Week and serves as a major occasion for mobilizing stakeholders to raise awareness and celebrate the progress achieved towards media and information literacy for all.

This year, the week in Armenia focuses on media literacy in the digital environment and is organised with a contribution of EU-funded “Youth in Action: Youth Empowerment and Leadership Development in Armenia” project.

“The EU has been at the forefront of addressing information manipulation. Media literacy is vital for preserving democratic values. We are committed to support Armenia in resilience-building against information manipulation.

We cooperate with both state and non-state actors and we fund projects to fight disinformation and to build critical thinking, media literacy and responsible digital citizenship skills in particular among the Armenian youth’’, underscored Jan Plešinger, Head of Political, Press and Information Section of the Delegation of the European Union to Armenia, in his speech.
