Agreement on expanding cooperation on customs issues between the Governments of Armenia and India debated

Bases are created for expanding and strengthening the cooperation between the customs services of Armenia and India by the Agreement on Cooperation and Mutual Assistance on Customs Issues between the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the Government of the Republic of India: The Deputy Chairman of the RA State Revenue Committee Ashot Muradyan said at the sitting of the Standing Committee on Economic Affairs on November 10.

The Agreement was signed in Brussels, on June 23. 2023. The document designs showing mutual administrative assistance in the customs issues and procedures of information exchange for that purpose.

“The enforcement of the Agreement for the customs service of Armenia is also emphasized in the context of the regularly implementing inquiries within the framework of the post-clearance control with respect to ensuring the necessary legal bases,” the rapporteur underlined.

It was noted that by applying the document direct communication will be approved between the relevant units of the two countries, which will have a positive impact for the import from India to Armenia and the disclosure of the cases of violation of the customs rules while exporting from our country to India, the quicker and operative solution of the current problems.

The draft on Ratifying the Agreement on Cooperation and Mutual Assistance on the Customs Issues between the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the Government of the Republic of India was endorsed.
